Blog Post 3
Yahoo has a new system for user passwords. No longer does one need to memorize a password for their email because of a new "two step verification" system. This allows users to log in with their established password then the email provider sends a unique code to their mobile phone which you then enter at the login screen, allowing users to access their account. This will eliminate the need for users to enter a fixed password first, instead it will just text a four-letter password to the user’s phone.
I see this as being a big draw to Yahoo because in today's world of technology, passwords are crucial. Personally, I have at least 6 different passwords to remember for a variety of things. Phone, email, school accounts, online bank account, ect and keeping up with them is nearly impossible. Passwords will always be around but anything to make keeping up with them simpler, I believe will be very successful.
